Hugo 2
Hugo 2 is the hinge of the whole Chord range: portable enough to take out, good enough to leave as the DAC of a real system. Its filter runs 49,152 taps into a ten-element output stage working in class A, and it handles everything up to 768 kHz and DSD512 over USB, with optical, coaxial and Bluetooth as well. Four selectable filters let you shade the top end from incisive to warm, and the crossfeed setting makes headphones behave a little more like loudspeakers on long listening. A line-level mode and a full remote turn it into a fixed component; six hours of battery turn it back into a portable. Two RCA outputs, both headphone sizes, 365 grams. What Hi-Fi?
