Chord Electronics Anni DAC
On your desk sits a Qutest, there is a good pair of headphones, and you want to add a pair of small speakers — one volume knob for everything, without an amplifier that takes over the desk. Anni is that one box: 160 millimetres wide, the same footprint as Qutest and Huei, and they stack. Ten watts sounds modest until you hear what's inside: the same error correction as in the big Ultima amplifiers, which measures and corrects the signal before it leaves. That is why it drives any headphone, however stubborn, and keeps small monitors tight. Two headphone outputs, so two of you can listen. Ten watts is a desk, not a living room with floorstanders; and Anni has no converter on board — the Qutest in front does that, or another source on the two line inputs.
