Chord Electronics Etude DAC

You have a DAVE or a Hugo TT 2 and you are looking for the power amplifier that belongs underneath, without your rack turning into an engine room. Étude was drawn for that: half width, and yet the first genuinely new circuit Chord has made since 1989. What you hear is control. It delivers its power faster than ordinary designs, so a loudspeaker is held rather than pushed: a double bass stops when the player stops, a timpani is one hit and not a hit with a tail. 150 watts into 4 ohms, conservatively rated; if your speakers ask for more, you put two of them bridged in mono and you have 300. It has no volume knob — DAVE, Hugo TT 2 or a Prima takes care of that — and without one of those three in front, it stays silent.
