Chord Electronics Huei DAC
You have a turntable you care about, and a cartridge — MM or MC — that can do more than your amplifier's phono input lets you hear. Or you are moving to MC and want it loaded right, not roughly. Huei sets that on the front: twelve loads for MC, eight gain steps, chosen with the illuminated spheres and remembered by a processor, not by dip switches underneath. What that changes: your cartridge is heard as its maker tuned it, not as your amplifier happens to load it. A rumble filter catches a warped record. Same case as Qutest and Anni; RCA in, RCA and XLR out. You do need to know what your cartridge wants — or you ask Joenit — and the power supply is an external 12-volt brick.
