Huei

Huei is a phono stage, and it is the most adjustable one Chord makes. A moving-coil cartridge can be loaded at twelve selectable impedances between 100 and 3,700 ohms, and gain runs in eight steps: 21 to 42 dB for moving magnet on the unbalanced output, 49 to 70 dB for moving coil, with six more decibels available on the balanced output. In plain terms, there is almost no cartridge it cannot be matched to properly — and it remembers the settings, because a microprocessor holds them rather than a row of dip switches on the underside. A switchable rumble filter deals with warped records. Same 160-millimetre chassis as Qutest, machined from solid billet, illuminated spheres on the front, RCA in, RCA and balanced XLR out.
