Chord Electronics
Anni
Anni is an integrated amplifier, not a DAC — the first desktop integrated Chord has built, and the box that turns a Qutest into a complete system. Ten watts into 8 ohms sounds modest until you notice what circuit is producing them: the same dual-feed-forward error correction as the full-size Ultima amplifiers, monitoring and correcting continuously, which is why it will drive any headphone load put in front of it. Two people can listen at once, on a 3.5 mm and a quarter-inch output. Four-millimetre binding posts take small loudspeakers, with a two-stage gain switch to suit active-shy desktop monitors. One knob does volume and input selection between two line inputs. Six hundred and twenty-five grams, 160 millimetres wide, THD of 0.02 per cent.
